Conversion Forklift Training in London

For certificated operators moving to a different category of truck: counterbalance to reach, reach to VNA, counterbalance to telehandler and so on. One to two days.

A forklift certificate is for a category of truck, not for forklifts in general. Put an experienced counterbalance driver on a reach truck and they are facing different controls, different visibility and a different way of staying upright, with none of the training to deal with it. Conversion training closes that gap without repeating the theory they already know.

The instructor concentrates on the new machine: its controls, how its stability differs, the tasks it will be used for and the hazards specific to it. The candidate then takes the full practical test for the new category and receives a certificate for it, which sits alongside their existing one.

Conversion is the normal route when a business adds a new type of truck, when an operator moves department, or when a site changes from counterbalance to reach, VNA or articulated trucks to get more out of its floor space, which in London is the commonest reason of all.
